Vacations In Birmingham, England and Some Important Facts

Currently growing numbers people are looking for new holiday destinations which offer something completely unique or, at the very least something rather than the popular sunny beach vacation. Under the current conditions many folk are, unfortunately discovering that they have a much smaller budget for spending on a holiday and are, obviously, forced to shaving corners to stretch their cash further. A way of doing this is to seek out less expensive destinations. The following article introduces the reader to Birmingham,  a city in England. You will find the city of Birmingham in the county of England known as the West Midlands  and the people who live in the city are referred to as being “Brummies”. Birmingham’s dialect sounds like those from other northern English cities and it is tricky to follow what is being spoken a difficulty which is made even worst if if you are new to such accents. Thankfully nearly all Brummies are helpful, polite and kind and do their very best to explain so if the need arises don’t be afraid to approach folk about directions and help or guidance in finding  Birmingham bed and breakfast.

The city features  an excellent number of tourist attractions which include some highly interesting galleries and museums, such as the Barber Institute of Fine Arts and the new Thinktank  which is in the Eastside. The city also has an impressive number of square kilometers of woodland, parks and open spaces, the largest being Sutton Park having 970 hectares it is also the largest urban nature reserve in the United Kingdom and even Europe.

Birmingham possesses a wide ranging and vibrant night life with many restaurants, bars, cafes and nightclubs. You will find many in one of the city’s squares, Victoria Square, Centenary Square, St Martin’s Square, Rotunda Square, Chamberlain Square, the historic Old Square at Corporation Street and the Gas Street Basin. Gas Street Basin is the central of the city’s intricate network of canals. The city has roughly thirty two miles of canal waterways with a total of eight canals which were constructed in the 18th century and continued being used until the late 20th century. Nowadays the area has been cleaned up and is now a good quality visitor attraction.

Rather than staying in a Hotel why not think about booking Birmingham city or airport apartments. If you If you are currently planning a vacation in Birmingham you will need to know that the international airport is roughly eight miles distance from the the city center (just off the A45 and near the M42, Junction 6. You will be pleased to know that there is a useful number of hotels and bed and breakfasts near to the airport.
